What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound found in cannabis and hemp. It does not alter your perception of reality or get you high. Instead, cannabidiol can be used to treat various mental and physical ailments, such as anxiety, insomnia, soreness, inflammation, pain, seizures and muscle spasms. The human organism already contains CB1 and CB2 receptors that create and react to cannabinoids, in order to regulate bodily functions. This is the reason why CBD can help in so many different ways. It can also be used for pets – to combat anxiety or pain that usually comes with old age.

Why CBD?
Why CBD?
The medicinal use of hemp and cannabis dates back thousands of years. With recent advancements in politics and science, it is once again being recognized for its healing properties. Many are realizing that their health troubles can be treated without chemical pharmaceuticals, and are turning to natural remedies instead.

As mentioned above, CBD cannot get you high, doesn’t cause addiction and typically doesn’t cause side-effects if used correctly. It’s legal for athletes and quite a few of them rely on CBD in order to enhance the recovery process and be free from muscle soreness. Cannabidiol is also often used for skincare, easing menstrual pain and even migraines.

Researchers are already making claims that CBD could be used in treating cancer, bone diseases and serious mental disorders, however, this still requires thorough testing.
